Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist
Leader in dental implants
François Riendeau’s educational background is indicative of his eclecticism and his undeniable interest in dentistry. After successfully completing studies in dental surgery at McGill University and a multidisciplinary residency at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, he earned a Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at McGill University in 1987.
Thanks to his creativity and innovative ability, he received a U.S. patent in 1995 for his Tracheal Tube Positioning Device, which serves to securely position the tubes used when a patient is under general anesthesia.
Dr. Riendeau practises at his Cliniques Trium in Pointe-Claire and Longueuil.
As a speaker and instructor, Dr. Riendeau is passionate about passing on his knowledge and expertise to other dental specialists. His preferred subject is implantology, a discipline in which he is a recognized leader. He is also very active in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery clinical research, and is a guest speaker for the McGill University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery graduate program.
He also provides private dental implantology teaching sessions within the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He is increasingly specializing his practice in dental implantology, a field to which he naturally devotes most of his time.
Professionally speaking, Dr. Riendeau is a visionary who forges ahead. In 1987, he created the Cliniques Trium, located in Pointe-Claire and Longueuil, which specialize in all fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
In 1994, he founded the West Island Snoring Clinic, today renowned for its expertise. It specializes in the treatment of snoring problems and sleep apnea. This multidisciplinary clinic (including general and specialist dentists and general physicians) is affiliated with the McGill University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
In 1995, Dr. Riendeau designed and patented the Tracheal Tube Positioning Device, which serves to securely position the tubes used when a patient is
under general anesthesia.
Ecologically speaking, Dr. Riendeau is committed to his Bear Mountain
low-density residential project in the Eastern Townships. Inspired by an architect-ecologist, this project will follow strict developmental and environmentally friendly standards.
Dr. Riendeau values good physical fitness and is an avid cyclist. A few years ago, he began workouts focused on cycling and swimming. Riding on both roads and trails, François has taken part in many cycling trips in North America and Europe and tested his endurance and his ability to push his body to the limit.
As someone who favours balance, he took up yoga to compensate for his hectic lifestyle.
Dr. Riendeau firmly believes in a citizen’s engagement. He is involved in his community and devotes some of his time to promoting amateur sports
province-wide. He has given his support to the Québec-Club de canoë-kayak
and the Aquatic Centre in Pointe-Claire.
His philanthropy and social involvement can also be seen in his professional activities. As the first president of the Ken Bentley Fund (Fund for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Research and Continuing Education – KCB-FORCE) since it was created in 2003, Dr. Riendeau set up a council and has been involved in a number of fundraisers for oral and maxillofacial surgery research from 2003 to 2007. Thanks to these fundraisers, research in this field is moving ahead more actively and is helping the general public benefit from cutting-edge treatments.
